Axcis education are currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate teaching assistant to join our team and provide invaluable support to children with SEND in a primary school setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact on children's learning and development while working in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting individual students or small groups of children with SEND, both in class and during one-on-one interventions.
• Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of tailored lessons, ensuring all students are engaged and achieving their potential.
• Helping to create and implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) for SEND children.
• Providing personal care and support where necessary.
• Encouraging the social, emotional, and behavioural development of children.
• Working closely with the SENDCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to monitor and track students' progress.
• Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Key Requirements:
• Experience working with children, particularly those with SEND, is desirable.
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and well-being.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the needs of each child.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to take initiative when required.
• Ideally, a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – although this is not essential.
• A child and adult enhanced DBS is required (if you do not have one, we can assist with the process)
