Job Title: Teaching assistant SEND

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teaching assistant to join us working in a primary school that caters to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality support to children aged 4-11 with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting teachers in the delivery of lessons and ensuring pupils with SEND have full access to the curriculum.
• Providing tailored, 1:1 or small group support to children with a range of special educational needs.
• Assisting with classroom management, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Encouraging social, emotional, and academic development of the pupils.
• Supporting the implementation of specific learning strategies and interventions for SEND children.
• Working closely with the school’s SENDCO and other staff members to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child.
Requirements:
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS – you must have a current or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS check.
• Relevant experience in supporting children with SEND, ideally in a primary school setting.
• A calm, patient, and compassionate approach to working with children.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A genuine desire to support and empower children with additional needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to child welfare.
