We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in Oldham, Lancashire, to work within our mainstream primary and secondary provisions. This individual will provide one-to-one support, encourage students to reach their full potential, and contribute to a safe learning environment for all. Responsibilities: - Provide tailored one-to-one assistance to students with ADHD and Autism, ensuring their individual needs are met. - Actively engage with students to foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and social interaction. - Implement learning strategies and behaviour intervention plans designed in cooperation with the lead teacher to support student’s individual education plans (IEP). - Serve as a liaison between students, teachers and parents to facilitate effective communication and ensure that the educational and emotional needs of the students are being met. - Assist with the preparation of teaching materials, classroom setup, and management to maintain an organized and conducive learning environment. - Contribute to the monitoring and reporting of student progress, providing feedback to teachers and relevant professionals. - Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to Special Educational Needs (SEN). - Implement the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the welfare of all students is a priority. Requirements: - Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably with special needs children in primary or secondary education. - A good understanding of the challenges faced by students with ADHD and Autism. - An empathetic and patient approach with the ability to inspire and motivate students. - Excellent communication skills, capable of building rapport with students, colleagues, and parents. - A firm grasp of safeguarding principles and dedication to the safety and wellbeing of children. - Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN experience or equivalent is highly desirable.
