Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Axcis are actively seeking specialist SEND Teaching Assistants to work at a secondary school in Blackpool. This school have approached us to assist with recruitment for additional staff to support their students with a range of SEND needs.
The school accommodates children ages 11-16 with many different needs and therefore we are looking for learning support staff / teaching assistants that have experience or a passion for working with pupils with at least one of the following
- Autism
- PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties)
- Complex health needs
- Physical and sensory impairment
- Severe language and communication difficulties
- Cerebral palsy
- Challenging behaviour
The role is to start ASAP and the working hours are Monday to Friday 08.30-15.30 on a long term, full time basis. The school has a large car park and good access to public transport links.
We kindly ask that our applicants have experience, whether that be from previous employments, or through personal experience (looking after a family or friend on a regular basis) as we need to ensure you understand the importance of the care and patience that is required when dealing with more severe SEND and have knowledge of how to support the pupils whilst allowing them to grow and feel a sense of independence.
