Teaching Assistant – PMLD (KS3 Secondary) Full-Time | KS3 | Specialist PMLD Setting Pay: £90–£100 per day (depending on experience) Start: January 2026, On-Going Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, Term-Time Only We are seeking a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a KS3 PMLD class within a specialist secondary setting. This role is well suited to individuals with support worker or care experience who are looking to move into a school-based role supporting young people with complex needs. The role includes personal care, manual handling, and hoisting, delivered with dignity, respect, and a strong focus on pupil wellbeing. About the Role As a Teaching Assistant supporting KS3 pupils with PMLD, you will: • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties • Support pupils with personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene, following individual care plans • Carry out manual handling and hoisting safely in line with training and risk assessments • Support the delivery of personalised, age-appropriate learning activities • Promote pupils’ communication, engagement, and emotional wellbeing • Encourage independence and life skills appropriate to pupils’ abilities • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide consistent support • Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment About the School The school is a specialist secondary provision where everything is centred on helping pupils enjoy their learning and achieve their potential.
