Job Title: Teaching Assistant
PMLD & Personal Care Teaching Assistant – Harrow
£90–£100 per day (depending on experience)
Flexible start date | Full-time preferred (part-time considered)
A welcoming and inclusive school in Harrow is seeking a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs. This role is particularly well-suited to candidates with a support worker or care background who are confident providing personal care and holistic support.
The school is well-resourced, with a strong focus on inclusion, dignity, and high-quality pastoral care. Staff work closely as a team to ensure every pupil receives tailored support to help them thrive both academically and personally.
The Role:
• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with PMLD and complex needs
• Assisting with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene (where required)
• Supporting pupils with physical disabilities, sensory needs, and medical requirements
• Using specialist communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, visual aids)
• Assisting with moving and handling in line with training and care plans
• Supporting engagement through sensory-based and differentiated learning activities
• Promoting comfort, wellbeing, and emotional regulation
• Working closely with the SENCO, therapists, and teaching staff to implement personalised support plans

• Is proactive and attentive to safeguarding and wellbeing
