Job Title: Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Behaviour & Autism Support – Primary – Newham
£100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Trial ASAP
Axcis are working with a well-resourced and forward-thinking primary school in Newham that has developed a strong internal SEND provision to support pupils with additional needs.
The school has a clear structure in place, a highly supportive SENCO and a team that work collaboratively to ensure pupils receive consistent, high-quality support. With excellent transport links and a positive working environment, this is a setting where staff are genuinely supported to succeed.
About the Role
You will be supporting pupils with a combination of autism and behavioural needs within a structured classroom environment and dedicated support space.
This role requires someone who can bring consistency, calmness and strong relationship-building skills, particularly when supporting pupils who may struggle with engagement or emotional regulation.
You will:
• Support pupils with autism and SEMH needs
• Help manage behaviour using clear and consistent strategies
• Use visual aids, routines and structured support approaches
• Support transitions between learning activities
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
