Job Title: Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism Resource Provision – Primary School – Havering From £100 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | September Start Axcis are working with a supportive primary school in Havering with a dedicated Autism Resource Provision (ARP), seeking an experienced and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their specialist team. The provision supports pupils with autism who benefit from a calm, structured environment, while still offering opportunities to access mainstream learning where appropriate. The school has strong leadership, clear routines and a collaborative SEND team who work closely together to support pupils’ communication, independence and emotional regulation. The school is accessible by local transport routes and offers parking on site. About the Role You will be supporting pupils within the ARP, helping them access personalised learning and develop the skills they need to participate confidently across the school day. You will: • Support pupils with autism within a specialist ARP setting • Use structured routines, visual timetables and communication supports • Assist with sensory regulation and transitions • Support pupils during small-group sessions and individual tasks • Help pupils build confidence, independence and social interaction • Work closely with teachers, SENCO and support staff to meet EHCP targets What We’re Looking For • Experience supporting pupils with autism • ARP, special school or specialist SEND experience would be highly desirable • Understanding of sensory needs and structured teaching approaches • Calm, consistent and nurturing approach • Strong teamwork and communication skills • Full-time availability from September This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-supported autism provision where structure, patience and consistency make a real difference.
