You will be working 1:1 with primary-aged pupils with ADHD and Autism, including non-verbal communication needs. The school is seeking a patient, skilled, and proactive Teaching Assistant who can set clear boundaries, support emotional regulation, and help create a safe and nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality 1:1 support for pupils with ADHD and Autism. Use communication systems such as PECS and Makaton. Support pupils presenting with challenging behaviour using calm, consistent strategies. Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families. Foster an inclusive, structured, and supportive classroom environment. Contribute to pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development. Requirements Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service. Experience in UK primary schools supporting children with ADHD and non-verbal Autism. Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and maintaining consistent boundaries. Experience with SEMH needs (highly desirable). Knowledge or experience of PECS and/or Makaton. Calm, patient, proactive approach with strong communication skills.
