Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive special school in Exeter. This role involves working with pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs, learning difficulties, and communication needs. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' educational progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development while helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities • Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings. • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities. • Encourage students' social, emotional, and communication development. • Promote independence and confidence through positive support strategies. • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. • Support pupils during breaktimes, lunchtime activities, and transitions around the school. • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet individual student needs. • Maintain safeguarding standards and support pupil wellbeing at all times.
