This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive team working with children and young people who have a range of complex additional needs, including autism, global developmental delay and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). If you are passionate about helping young people reach their potential and want a role where your contribution genuinely matters, this could be the ideal opportunity for you. What Will the Role Involve? As a Teaching Assistant, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning experience tailored to each pupil's individual needs. Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will encourage pupils to develop their communication, independence, confidence and engagement with learning. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be varied and may include: • Supporting sensory learning experiences and activities. • Encouraging communication, interaction and social engagement. • Taking part in outdoor learning and garden-based activities. • Assisting pupils during swimming and rebound therapy sessions. • Providing support with classroom learning and educational tasks. • Getting involved in practical, creative and hands-on activities. • Helping pupils with personal care and physical support requirements. • Contributing to a safe, caring and stimulating school environment. Every pupil is different, meaning each day brings new opportunities to support their development and wellbeing. Who Would Be Suitable for This Position? We are looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, patience and a genuine desire to support children and young people with additional needs. You will ideally be: • Caring, understanding and compassionate. • Patient and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn. • Comfortable working with pupils with complex needs. • Dependable and committed to providing individualised support. • Flexible and happy to participate in a variety of learning activities. • Willing and comfortable to assist with personal care and physical needs. Previous experience is not essential, as the right attitude and willingness to develop are equally important. Applications are particularly welcome from people with experience in care, early years, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), youth work, education or support work. What Can You Expect from the School? Joining this specialist setting offers the opportunity to develop your skills while making a meaningful contribution to pupils' lives. Benefits of the role include: • A friendly, welcoming and supportive school environment. • Guidance and support from experienced colleagues. • Training and opportunities to build your knowledge and skills in SEND. • A varied and engaging role where no two days are the same. • The chance to make a positive and lasting difference to young people. • Potential for ongoing work and the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.
