Job Title: Youth Work Experience, Teaching Assistant
Are you an ex-youth worker looking to transition into education? Do you have experience supporting young people with diverse needs? If so, Axcis want to hear for you. A primary Special Educational Needs (SEN) school based in Hillingdon is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with complex needs such as autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. The school has a strong focus on delivering tailored learning through Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) to ensure each child reaches their full potential. As a teaching assistant, you will: -Support Classroom Activities: Assist teachers with planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons. -Provide Tailored Support: Work closely with students, both one-to-one and in small groups, to support their academic and emotional development. -Encourage Independence: Help children with their personal learning plans (PLPs), focusing on their specific needs and abilities. -Support Complex Needs: Assist students with varying needs, including those with Autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy, ensuring they are engaged and making progress. -Create a Positive Learning Environment: Promote inclusivity, emotional well-being, and engagement in all classroom activities. What We’re Looking For: -Experience with Youth Groups: Your experience working or volunteering with youth groups will provide you with invaluable skills for this role. -Eligibility to Work in the UK: You must have the legal right to work in the UK. -Enhanced DBS Check: You should have an enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply for one, ideally on the update service. -Passion for SEN Support: A genuine desire to support children with special educational needs. -Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents is essential.
