Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Mainstream Primary School, Bridport
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £89 – £95 per day
Start Date: September

About the role
This is a unique and rewarding 1:1 support role working with Year 6 pupils. In the mornings, you will be based in the classroom, providing focused support to help a pupil stay engaged with learning, build confidence, and maintain positive routines alongside the class teacher. In the afternoons, the role will be to provide structured 1:1 learning for another pupil, using the outdoor area to create a more hands-on, personalised approach. This part of the day focuses on supporting social, emotional, and sensory development in a calm, active environment. School experience is preferred.
You’ll use creativity, flexibility, and empathy to help both pupils develop independence, resilience, and a genuine sense of progress by:
• Guiding and nurturing pupils through their academic and emotional journey
• Putting personalised plans into action to support each child’s unique needs
• Inspiring confidence, fostering independence, and building emotional resilience
• Working closely with teachers to shape a supportive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom atmosphere
