Job Title: ASD Teaching assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistant to work with an amazing primary school in Stoke-on-Trent. The successful candidate will work 1:1 with a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment. The opportunity: • To work as a ASD Teaching Assistant and gain real classroom experience. • Monday – Friday - 08:30am - 3:30pm • Based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire • Starting ASAP – July 2025 • Fulltime and part time work available. • £84 - £100 per day, please be aware that pay rates will depend on skills and experience • Term Time Only Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-to-one and small group support for a student with ASD. • Assist in the development and implementation of the students EHCP • Support with communication, social interaction, and sensory processing needs. • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment. • Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of the student • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents. • Promote independence, confidence, and positive behavior among students. Essential Requirements: • Experience working with children with ASD or other Special Educational Needs (SEN). • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to adapt to different learning needs and behaviors. • Understanding of autism strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or sensory integration techniques (desirable not essential).
