Are you an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting students with challenging behaviour?
We are looking for a resilient, proactive and experienced SEMH TA to join a secondary school in Enfield (EN3). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for supporting young people and can build positive relationships while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students who may present with challenging behaviour, emotional difficulties and additional behavioural needs. You will work closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team to help students engage positively with their education and manage their behaviour effectively.
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience working with challenging behaviour
Have strong behaviour management skills
Be confident handling difficult and potentially volatile situations
Be calm, patient and resilient under pressure
Be able to build positive relationships with challenging students
Have a consistent and firm approach to boundaries and expectations
Understand SEMH needs and the impact they can have on learning and behaviour
Be proactive, adaptable and willing to get stuck in
Ideally have previous experience working within a secondary school, PRU, alternative provision or specialist setting

This role would suit someone who is confident, emotionally resilient and not easily intimidated by challenging behaviour. You will need to be able to remain calm and professional when faced with difficult situations, while ensuring students feel supported and understood.
