Job Title: BSL Teaching Assistant
BSL Support Specialist – Primary School – North West London
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated British Sign Language (BSL) practitioner to join our welcoming primary school in North West London. This is a rewarding opportunity to support Deaf and hearing-impaired pupils in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils using BSL
Facilitate communication between pupils, staff, and peers
Support access to the curriculum across all subjects
Work closely with the SENCo, class teachers, and external professionals
Promote inclusion and independence within the school community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A recognised BSL qualification (Level 2 minimum; Level 3+ desirable)
Experience working with Deaf children in a primary setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
