Job Title: College Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Stroud, GL5
Salary: £90+ per day (based on experience and qualifications)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker for our diverse and expanding college. As a specialist school for young adults with learning difficulties and Autism, we are committed to providing each student with a tailored education that promotes independence, curiosity and self-advocacy.

We cater to post-16 students, offering a wide range of opportunities for learning and personal growth. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to students with learning difficulties and Autism, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their personal best.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment that promotes independence.
• Adapt learning strategies to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring they are supported both academically and emotionally.
• Assist students in developing life skills, social connections and resilience through structured support and encouragement.
• Manage challenging behaviours in a calm and positive manner, ensuring a nurturing environment where students feel safe and supported.
• Contribute to personalised education plans, sharing insights to help shape each student’s learning journey.
Requirements:
• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with Autism and severe learning difficulties, is desirable.
• A caring, patient, and adaptable attitude, with a genuine passion for helping students thrive.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students and the wider community.
• Ability to manage and respond to challenging behaviour in a positive and constructive manner.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills.
