Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Axcis Education is recruiting for a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to work within a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Coventry. This full-time position is due to start in September and offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience or progress their career within education.
Whether you are an experienced Cover Supervisor, graduate, teaching assistant, youth worker, or someone with strong behaviour management skills, this role could be the ideal next step.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with the work provided.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will cover a range of subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to maintain a positive learning environment and support students' academic progress.
Location: Coventry
Start Date: September
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
Pay Rate: From £92.63 a day
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of secondary school subjects
• Lead classes in the absence of the class teacher
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and confidently
• Maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment
• Support students in completing set work and meeting lesson objectives
• Encourage student engagement, participation, and achievement
• Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff
• Follow school behaviour and safeguarding policies at all times

What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
• Strong behaviour management and classroom management skills
• Confidence leading groups of secondary-aged students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to remain calm, professional, and resilient
• Experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
• A proactive and adaptable approach to learning and behaviour support
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday
