Job Title: English Teacher
Position: Experienced English Teacher (Special Educational Needs)
Location: Wandsworth, London
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Remuneration: Paid to scale
We are inviting applications from dedicated and compassionate English Teachers with a specialization in Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join a dynamic educational team in Wandsworth, London. This full-time position provides an opportunity for a qualified practitioner to contribute to the academic growth and personal development of students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated English curriculum tailored to the needs of SEN students at various learning levels.
- Implement inclusive teaching practices to support students with SEN, ensuring that each student has access to a high-quality education.
- Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching methods to foster a love for English literature and language.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, SENCO, and parents to create effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Utilize a range of pedagogical techniques to encourage critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills.
- Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to the department's strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- A qualified teacher status (QTS) recognized in the UK, with demonstrable experience in SEN settings.
- A proven track record of success in teaching English to students of varying abilities.
- Excellent knowledge of the British curriculum and the strategies needed to support SEN learners successfully.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
