Job Title: Experienced Teaching Assistant
Job Vacancy: SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist Communication Class
Location: West Drayton
Start Date: ASAP | Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
The Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive mainstream school in West Drayton, with a strong community ethos and a deep commitment to supporting every child’s individual needs.
Axcis are currently seeking a compassionate, experienced, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist total communication class, supporting pupils with complex learning needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, and challenging behaviour.
About the Role:
In this specialist class, you will work as part of a dedicated team with a 2:1 TA support ratio and one class teacher, supporting around 10 pupils. These pupils benefit from a communication-rich, highly structured environment designed to meet a wide range of needs. The role involves both group and 1:1 support, and you will be integral in helping children regulate, engage, and access their learning. Some personal care duties may be required.
Requirements:
-Proven experience supporting children with ASD, Down Syndrome, complex needs, and challenging behaviour
-Comfortable with delivering personal care when required
-Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
-Patient, proactive, and passionate about inclusive education
