Looking for meaningful work alongside your studies at the University of Bath?
Are you a University of Bath student looking for rewarding work that fits around your studies and gives you valuable hands-on experience?
We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and patient Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged pupils with autism and learning disabilities in a specialist school in Bath.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in children's lives while developing transferable skills in communication, teamwork, patience and emotional support. Whether you're considering a future career in teaching, psychology, social work or another people-focused profession, this role offers valuable experience to strengthen your CV.
With school-day hours of 8:30am to 3:30pm, this could be an ideal opportunity to gain practical experience while keeping your evenings and weekends free for university work and social life.
A unique learning environment
The school provides a specialist, supportive environment for autistic pupils, with personalised learning tailored to each child's individual needs. The focus is on developing communication, encouraging independence, supporting emotional wellbeing and helping every pupil reach their potential.
You will be part of a team dedicated to creating a positive, inclusive environment where pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn. No two days are the same, making this a rewarding opportunity to build confidence, gain new skills and learn from experienced education professionals.
Who are we looking for?
Personality matters more than previous experience.
This role could be ideal for:
University of Bath students looking for meaningful part-time work
Students studying Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, Health or related subjects
Graduates looking to gain experience before pursuing a career in education or support work
Aspiring teachers and educational psychologists
Sports coaches, youth workers and support workers
Anyone who is patient, kind, reliable and motivated to help children thrive
You don't need previous experience working in a school. We're looking for people with a positive attitude, a calm and caring approach, and a willingness to learn.
If you're looking for rewarding work that fits around university life, helps you develop valuable skills and allows you to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
