Job Title: Full-Time SEND Support Assistant
In a specialist educational setting in Slough, every pupil’s path is unique — and so is every day. This well-established SEND school is offering a full-time teaching assistant opportunity from September 2025, ideal for individuals who are committed to inclusive education and ready to make a meaningful impact. This long-term position (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm) involves supporting students across a wide age range, each with varying needs — from autism and ADHD to complex physical and medical needs to Down’s syndrome, SEMH, cerebral palsy etc. Success in this role depends not only on practical skills but on your ability to foster trust, create calm and respond sensitively to each learner’s communication style and emotional needs. You will contribute to classroom learning as well as personal development, always working closely with teaching staff and therapists to provide consistent, holistic support. Adaptability is essential. You may move between classes, key stages or support roles, depending on the needs of the day. Candidates must be comfortable with providing personal care and supporting pupils who exhibit behaviours that challenge — always with dignity and professionalism. We welcome applications from those with a minimum of three months’ relevant experience in SEND, care or education. Formal qualifications (e.g. TA Level 2) are an advantage, though not a requirement. A valid UK driving licence is beneficial, as the role may occasionally involve escorting students to off-site activities. For individuals seeking a purposeful role where relationships matter, where progress may be gradual but deeply rewarding, this is a chance to become part of a strong, values-led team focused on the potential of every learner.
