Job Title: HLTA, Nursery Experience
Location: Taunton
Hours: 8.15am – 3.30pm, Mon-Fri
Salary: £83.40 - £95 per day depending on experience.
Contract Type: Full-time with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate.

About the Nursery:
The nursery is attached to a successful primary school in the heart of Somerset. Employing interactive and pioneering instruction techniques, the nursery aims to provide a welcoming, exciting, and carefully structured environment where each child is able to achieve their full potential. Parents play a key roll in nursery life here and practitioners are expected to build and maintain strong links between home and school. With a range of indoor and outdoor space, the nursery offers a range of opportunities for each child to explore and grow.
About the role:
As a HLTA within a nursery setting, you can be expected to support with the following:
- Setting the room up for the day.
- Welcoming, settling and registering children at the beginning of the day and maintaining safety records.
- Supporting with mealtimes and any first aid needs.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
- Organising and initiating structured play opportunities.
- Observing and assessing children’s progress and communicating this with parents.
- Encouraging social interaction and communication skills.
The ideal candidate:
- Has nursery experience
- Is a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (or equivalent)
- Can adapt to the needs and personalities of individual children and is passionate about supporting their unique journeys
- Is confident leading others and communicating with parents/carers
- Is first-aid trained
