Job Title: KS1 Teacher
Job Title: Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teacher Location: Chorley, Lancashire Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher to join our friendly primary school based in Chorley, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and demonstrate a proven track record of delivering engaging and effective lessons that cater to the varying needs of young learners. Key Responsibilities: - Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and meet the educational needs of all students in KS1. - Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives. - Use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities, etc.) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities. - Assess and record each student’s progress systematically, identifying areas for further development and setting realistic targets for achievement. - Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of students. - Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures. - Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and inclusion. - Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide feedback on student progress. - Participate in departmental meetings, parent meetings, and whole-school training events. - Keep up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum. - Collaborate with support staff, colleagues, and school administration. - Contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in extracurricular activities and school events. Qualifications & Experience: - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK is essential. - Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject is recommended. - Proven teaching experience in Key Stage 1. - Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and a commitment to high teaching standards. - Understanding of child development and the various factors that can affect learning and behavior. - Proficiency in managing classroom environments. Key Skills: - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Good organizational and time-management skills. - Creativity and hands-on approach to teaching. - Energy, patience, responsibility, and a nurturing attitude. - Ability to collaborate effectively with both children and adults. - Strong command of the English language.
