Job Title: Learning Mentor- Alternative Provision
FULL TIME – LONG TERM Plymouth If you enjoy steady routines, clear expectations and supporting pupils who benefit from calm, consistent guidance, this could be a great fit for you. Axcis education are currently supporting an excellent Alternative Provision with long-term and permanent roles. We’re looking for people who bring patience, awareness and a grounded presence each day. What You’ll Be Doing: Supporting pupils with autism, communication needs, or social, emotional & behavioural needs Helping students settle into lessons and follow simple routines Working 1:1 or in small groups to build confidence Assisting teachers with adapted activities and light intervention work Supporting pupils through transitions and maintaining focus Creating a calm, predictable environment Completing community outreach sessions with students (driver essential) What Settings Look For: 6+ months recent SEN experience (within last 3 years) with children or adults A calm, patient, consistent approach Someone who notices details and responds thoughtfully Confident working independently and in a team Reliable, with a genuine interest in supporting young people Full UK driving licence + own car A Level 3 TA qualification or related background (psychology, youth work, care, health & social care) is helpful but not essential.
