This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), Autism (ASD), ADHD, and additional learning needs. Working on a 1:1 basis, you will support students both in school and through community outreach, helping them engage in learning, build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities - Provide 1:1 support to students with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and additional learning difficulties. - Build positive, trusting relationships with students to promote engagement and emotional wellbeing. - Support students to access learning both in the classroom and within the local community. - Deliver outreach sessions, accompanying students to educational, vocational, and wellbeing activities. - Work alongside teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals to support each student's individual needs. - Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to student support plans. - Promote positive behaviour and help students develop confidence, resilience, and independence. Essential Requirements - Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or additional educational needs. - A patient, calm, resilient, and nurturing approach. - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. - A full UK driving licence. - Access to your own car is essential, as the role involves community outreach and transporting students to educational activities and appointments. Desirable Experience - Previous experience as a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Behaviour - - - Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker, or within an Alternative Provision or SEN setting. - Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and behaviour support strategies. Team Teach or other positive behaviour management training (desirable but not essential).
