Hours: Full time and Part-time positions available; Working hours are 8.45am - 4.15pm

Job Role:
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team. The successful candidates will provide assistance and support to students aged 16-18 with Special Educational Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping to facilitate their learning, independence, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer tailored learning support to students with SEMH needs within the classroom setting, on a one-to-one or small group basis.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to promote a positive learning environment.
- Encourage and prompt students in their work and manage behavior in line with the school’s policies and strategies.
- Support the students in the use of assistive technology or other resources as appropriate.
- Observe and track the students’ progress, reporting back to the relevant parties.
- Facilitate the inclusion of students in all aspects of college life.
- Attend to the students’ personal needs where necessary, ensuring dignity and fostering independence.
- Participate in relevant meetings and professional development activities.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH needs.
- Child and adult DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one before commencement of the role).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for helping students to learn and grow.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning or relevant field.
- Training or qualifications related to mental health or special educational needs.
