Job Title: Learning Support Assistant, KS4 Alternative Provision, Full-Time
We are seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work as part of a wider in-school team at an alternative provision. This role is based within a provision based in the Edgbaston area which is dedicated to supporting young people aged 14 to 16 years facing Social Emotional and Mental Health Challenges (SEMH) who can display very challenging behaviours due to their lived experiences. Supporting individuals facing SEMH challenges lays in building strong, professional and empathetic relationships with each individual and therefore high levels of dedication and resilience are key to being successful in this role. Whilst school experience is highly desired and will be beneficial, it is not essential to be considered. The working hours are 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday, during term-time. The provision takes a therapeutic approach to the support it provides to it’s young people. Counsellors and therapists play a big role in each individual’s life and education; as an LSA it will be your responsibility to implement and feedback on the strategies and plans they put in place.
