Job Title: Learning support assistant
Learning Support Assistant – PRU Setting (Rochdale)
Contract: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm
Pay: From £13.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a learning support assistant to work within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Rochdale. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people who require additional guidance and structure to thrive in education.
We are looking for a confident, calm and resilient individual who has proven experience working with challenging behaviour and is passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives.
Key Requirements:
• Previous experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour (essential)
• Experience within a PRU, alternative provision, or SEND setting (desirable)
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Ability to use initiative and respond effectively to dynamic situations
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Child and Adult DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
• Available to start immediately
The Role:
• Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assisting with behaviour regulation and engagement in learning
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and senior leadership
• Promoting a safe, supportive and structured learning environment
