Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Position: Learning Support Assistant Location: Teddington, Greater London Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00?–?15:30 (Full-time) Salary: Paid to scale Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant school community in Teddington. Working closely with teachers and specialist staff, you will help create an inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities • Provide one-to-one or small-group support to students with identified learning needs. • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions. • Prepare and adapt learning materials, ensuring accessibility and relevance. • Supervise students during classroom activities, breaks, and trips, promoting positive behaviour. • Record progress, communicate observations to teachers, and contribute to assessment reviews. • Foster a supportive, respectful atmosphere that encourages independence and confidence. Essential Requirements • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics; Level 3 qualification in Learning Support or related field preferred. • Experience working with children in an educational setting, especially with SEN or EAL pupils. • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding policies. • Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving. Desirable • Knowledge of current SEN legislation and best-practice strategies. • First-aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
