Job Title: Learning Support Mentor
Teaching Assistant – SEND College (Autism Specialist) Location: Newton-Le-Willows (WA12) Start Date: Late June / Early July 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm Help Young People Build Skills for Life Axcis Education is recruiting for a specialist SEND college in Newton-Le-Willows, supporting students aged 16–25 with autism and additional learning needs. Starting in late June / early July 2026, this rewarding role involves supporting young adults as they develop independence, employability, and life skills through both classroom-based and practical learning experiences. The Role You will: • Support students with autism in classroom and vocational settings • Encourage independence, communication, and social development • Assist with life skills, employability, and enterprise activities • Adapt support to meet individual EHCP outcomes • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing • Work closely with tutors, therapists, and support staff Students regularly take part in practical activities such as running a student-led café, outdoor projects, and employability-based learning.
