Job Title: Nursery Assistant - 3 hours a week
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a 5-year-old boy with Down Syndrome, Autism, epilepsy, and a history of heart surgery.
The child is sensitive to noise and may experience sensory overload, so a calm and understanding approach is essential. The role also includes personal care duties, including nappy changing.
Key Responsibilities:
Pay: £18-20 per hour (PAYE)
Provide 1:1 support from 13:30 to 16:00
Support the child in managing sensory sensitivities and noise levels
Assist with personal care, including nappy changing
Be aware of and support medical needs, including epilepsy
Complete brief observations and written reports after 16:00 (with SENCO support)
Essential Requirements:
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism and Down Syndrome
A patient, calm, and nurturing manner
Understanding of sensory processing needs
Willingness to carry out personal care duties
Strong observation and basic report-writing skills
Reliable, flexible, and committed
Enhanced DBS check required
