About the Role
We are seeking a confident and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in a primary school in N10. The role involves working closely with a boy who is currently undiagnosed but presents with behavioural and attention/focus difficulties.
This position requires someone who can build a strong, positive relationship with the pupil while maintaining clear boundaries and structure. The successful candidate will be firm but fair, calm under pressure, and able to support the child in staying engaged with learning throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 classroom support for a pupil with behavioural and focus challenges
Use positive behaviour management strategies to support engagement and learning
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and routines
Help the pupil regulate emotions and remain focused during lessons and transitions
Encourage positive social interaction and participation in classroom activities
Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting children with behavioural needs, ADHD-type traits, or SEMH
Be confident, consistent, and able to set clear boundaries
Have a firm but fair approach to behaviour management
Be relatable, patient, and able to build trust quickly with pupils
Remain calm and proactive when managing challenging situations
Have experience working in a primary school or SEND setting (preferred)
