About Us: We are a dedicated educational institution focused on providing exceptional support for students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Our aim is to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where every student can thrive. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to join our team in Barking.
Role Overview: As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students with PMLD, assisting in their educational and personal development. Your role will be vital in ensuring that each student receives the individualised support they need to flourish.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities for PMLD students.
Provide personal care and assistance with daily living tasks as required.
Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement.
Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
Encourage communication and social interaction through various methods, including sensory activities.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children or adults with PMLD or complex needs is highly desirable.
A strong understanding of the specific challenges faced by PMLD students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
