Job Title: Primary HLTA
HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) – Mainstream Primary School We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly team at a vibrant mainstream primary school. The successful candidate will support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Challenging Behaviour in a nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to children in Reception and Year 1 within a Nurture Room setting. Work closely with students with SEN to help them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and develop essential social and emotional skills. Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and small group work, ensuring that students’ individual needs are met. Use your skills and experience to manage challenging behaviour in a calm, supportive, and constructive manner. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a caring and inclusive learning environment. Essential Requirements: - Prior experience working in schools, supporting children or vulnerable adults with SEN (Special Educational Needs). - A good understanding of ASD, SEMH, and managing challenging behaviour. - A positive attitude, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the holistic development of children. - Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative where necessary. Desirable Qualifications: Experience in a Nurture Room setting or similar therapeutic environment.
