Job Title: Primary Teacher - SEND
SEND Teacher – Mainstream Primary School (Enhanced SEND Unit) A mainstream primary school in Hounslow is seeking a full-time SEND Teacher to lead its enhanced SEND unit, supporting children with communication and interaction difficulties, the majority of whom have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The role is based across EYFS and KS1 and is suitable for an experienced SEND teacher with a strong background in ASC and early primary education. About the Role • Teaching a small cohort of 12 pupils (8 KS1 and 4 EYFS) • Working as the sole class teacher within the unit • Supported by 4 Teaching Assistants, plus 1:1 support for one child • Planning and delivering highly structured, personalised learning • Creating a calm, consistent, and nurturing environment • Supporting communication, interaction, and emotional regulation Requirements • Extensive experience working with children with ASC • Strong EYFS and KS1 teaching experience • Confident leading a SEND unit within a mainstream setting • Skilled in personalised learning, structure, and routine • Passionate about inclusive education and high expectations Additional Information • Start date: Flexible, happy for the successful candidate to start after Feb half term • Interview process: Trial-based This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND teacher to take on a rewarding role within a supportive school environment, making a real difference to pupils’ early learning and development.
