Hours: Adhoc- A mixture of 7:30am – 3:00pm and 2:30pm – 10:00pm- to suite candidates

About the Setting
A specialist residential provision supporting young people aged 4 to 25 with a range of complex needs. The setting is based on a single, well-resourced site, with multiple residential homes located together—meaning no travel between locations is required.
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment. You will work closely with young people on a one-to-one basis, supporting them in all aspects of daily life while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
You will help identify and reduce barriers to participation, ensuring each individual can access opportunities for learning, social engagement, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide person-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs, preferences, and goals.
• Support with mobility and daily routines while promoting independence and dignity.
• Assist with the development of communication skills, independent living skills, and access to education and leisure activities.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that support emotional wellbeing and resilience.
• Recognise and reduce environmental and social barriers that impact participation and inclusion.
• Support individuals in managing behaviours that may challenge, using proactive and respectful strategies.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and professionals to ensure consistent and holistic support.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex needs and behaviours that challenge (this may include personal or lived experience).

Training and Support
We provide a comprehensive induction programme, including behaviour management training, alongside ongoing professional development and support to help you succeed in your role. This role requires and enhanced child and adult DBS.
