Are you practical, reliable and ready to make a real difference in a supportive school community? We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to join our SEND school in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity to help create a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. Key responsibilities include: 1. Managing school transport and supervising the car park at the start and end of each day. 2. Assisting the Site Manager with ongoing projects across the school. 3. Monitoring cleanliness around the site and liaising with our external cleaning company to ensure high standards are maintained. 4. Ensuring the grounds, playgrounds and car parks are safe, tidy and well maintained. 5. Maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the pool and surrounding area, reporting any issues to the Site Manager. 6. Decommissioning faulty cleaning, grounds and playground equipment and reporting issues promptly. 7. Supporting site security, including setting and disarming the burglar alarm. 8. Working safely in line with the HASAW Act 1974 and COSHH regulations. 9. Completing all relevant DCCS paperwork accurately and on time. 10. Arranging access to the site for contractors and supporting them as required. Carrying out a range of minor maintenance tasks, such as: 1. Rehanging doors 2. Repairing chairs, tables and other school furniture 3. Painting and basic decorating 4. Replacing light bulbs, plugs and similar items 5. Weeding paved areas and grass cutting 6. Replacing tap washers 7. Replacing or fitting door and window furniture 8. Installing coat hooks, shelves and display boards 9. Keeping outside areas clear of litter What we’re looking for: 1.
