Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Are you ready to take on a meaningful role supporting a Key Stage 2 pupil in a caring primary school near Taunton? We’re recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a pupil with additional needs on a maternity cover contract placement, starting March. What the role involves: • 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with SEND needs • Helping the pupil access lessons and participate fully in school activities • Supporting social, emotional and communication skills • Encouraging independence and confidence in classroom routines You’ll work alongside the class teacher and wider school staff to deliver consistent, positive support that makes a real difference to the pupil’s school experience. Role details: • Full-time, Monday to Friday • Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm • Fixed-term (12 months) maternity cover, starting March • Pay: £13.70 per hour We want someone who: • Is kind, patient and genuinely enjoys working with children • Has a calm, encouraging approach and strong communication skills • Is reliable, adaptable and works well as part of a supportive team • Has experience working with SEND and/or young people This position is perfect for graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, support workers, aspiring teaching assistants or anyone passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
