Job Title: SEMH Support
Axcis are seeking a caring and dedicated individual to join a Pupil Referral Unit in Hillingdon. This PRU places young people at the center of their educational approach, ensuring that learning is tailored to meet individual needs. They are supported by a committed team of staff, along with their Management Committee, parents/carers, and other professionals. Position: Support Staff/Teaching Assistant Location: Hillingdon PRU Pay Rate: Competitive, starting at £94+ per day Working Hours: Full-time, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday) Key Responsibilities: -Enhanced DBS on the update service -Support the academic and emotional development of students. -Implement de-escalation strategies to manage challenging situations. -Collaborate with colleagues and other support staff to ensure a positive learning environment. -Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress. -Provide personalized, one-to-one support for students with SEMH needs. Requirements: -Previous experience working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Experience in managing challenging behaviors effectively. -Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support (desirable). -De-escalation skills are an advantage.
