Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
SEMH Teaching Assistants – Tameside – Full-Time
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)?
Do you have experience working with students who display challenging behaviour and need a calm, patient and supportive adult to help them succeed?
Axcis Education is working with a number of local schools in Tameside who are looking for dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to join their teams as soon as possible.
The Role:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)
- Supporting students with SEMH and/or challenging behaviour on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Helping to manage behaviour, regulate emotions, and promote positive learning experiences
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to ensure students feel safe and supported.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Recent or previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, ASD, ADHD or similar
- A calm, resilient and nurturing approach
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
