Specialist Primary SEMH School | Slough
Monday to Friday | 8:30am–4:00pm
Daily Rate: From £89 (PAYE)

About the Opportunity
A specialist primary school in Slough is seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident working with challenging behaviour and motivated by the opportunity to help children develop positive coping strategies.
You’ll be joining a dedicated team in a structured environment where consistency, empathy and resilience are key.
Your Responsibilities
Provide daily support to pupils with SEMH needs across the school day
Help children regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively
Apply agreed behaviour strategies consistently and calmly
Support learning activities in classrooms and outdoor settings
Work closely with teachers and specialist staff to maintain routines and structure
Remain active and engaged throughout the day in a dynamic school environment
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting children with SEMH and complex behavioural needs
Confidence in using behaviour management techniques
A calm, patient and supportive approach
Strong resilience and ability to remain composed in challenging situations
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active role
Previous experience in a school or specialist setting is highly desirable
