SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School SRP (KS2) Location: West Drayton Start Date: March 2026 Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm Join a Supportive Primary School SRP Near West Drayton Axcis is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-supported primary school located close to West Drayton Station to recruit a resilient and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant for their Special Resourced Provision (SRP), supporting KS2-aged pupils. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in March 2026, with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The role involves supporting pupils with additional needs, including challenging behaviour, therefore consistency, confidence, and a calm approach are essential. About the Role The SRP supports a small group of up to 10 KS2 pupils. Pupils present with a range of needs, primarily SEMH, Autism (ASD), and behavioural challenges. Some pupils may experience emotional dysregulation, including outbursts or the use of inappropriate language, so the successful candidate must be able to manage these situations professionally and compassionately. Key Responsibilities -Provide targeted support for KS2 pupils with SEMH and ASD -Support behaviour management using de-escalation strategies and positive reinforcement -Work closely with the class teacher and the wider SEND team -Help create and maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment Requirements -Experience supporting KS2-aged children with ASD, SEMH, or challenging behaviour -A confident, proactive, and resilient approach to behaviour management -Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) -Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-focused mindset -Team-Teach training (highly desirable) This is an excellent opportunity to join an inclusive and nurturing school community where staff are committed to making a meaningful difference in pupils’ lives.
