Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in Sutton, London. In this role, you will provide essential support to students with SEMH needs, fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment conducive to their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist classroom teachers in delivering tailored educational programs designed to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH difficulties.
• Provide one-on-one and group support, promoting positive behaviors and social skills.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and specialists to implement effective strategies that support students’ emotional and behavioral challenges.
• Monitor and record students’ progress, contributing to individualized education plans (IEPs) and reports.
• Encourage a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere to enhance students' confidence and engagement.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of a relevant qualification in education or support work (Level 2 or 3).
• Experience working with children with SEMH needs is preferable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
