Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Primary School (M22)
Pay: £89 – £110 per day (dependent on experience and skill level)
Start Date: After Easter Break
Trial Day: Available next week
Are you a resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are working with a welcoming primary school in the M22 area who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team after the Easter break. A trial day will be arranged for next week, giving you the opportunity to experience the school environment and meet the team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact, supporting pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning in a positive and structured environment.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
Managing behaviour and promoting positive relationships
Creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Encouraging emotional regulation and social development
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children with SEMH needs (school, care, youth work, or similar)
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Strong behaviour management skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
A proactive and flexible attitude
