A specialist school in Slough is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 8 pupil from 5th October 2026. The Role As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with one pupil throughout the school day, providing consistent support, encouragement and guidance both in lessons and during less structured times. Your role will be key in helping the pupil engage positively with learning, develop emotional resilience and build confidence within the school environment. Key responsibilities include: Providing dedicated one-to-one support throughout the school day Supporting the pupil's emotional regulation and wellbeing Encouraging engagement in learning and classroom activities Promoting positive behaviour and social development Building a trusting and respectful relationship while maintaining clear boundaries Working alongside teachers and support staff to implement tailored support strategies Helping create a safe, calm and supportive learning environment About You We are looking for someone who is calm, nurturing and resilient, with the ability to remain professional and positive when faced with challenging situations. You will be confident supporting pupils with additional needs and committed to helping young people succeed both academically and personally.
