Job Title: SEND Teacher (QTS), Autism/Complex Needs Secondary School
Axcis Education is supporting an Autism/Complex Needs-specific school in Erdington. They are a secondary SEND school catering to individuals with a lead diagnosis of autism. The school is currently looking for a qualified teacher (QTS) to work across all ages and varying levels of need, this is a "cover teacher" position. The pupils age from 11 to 16 years on the main school site, with a post-16 site (16-18 years) nearby. The appointed teacher will support the main class teachers with planning and preparation but will mainly be responsible for the delivery of lessons and post-lesson assessment. The school is keen to bring on a teacher who is looking to become part of their team and who will show a high level of dedication to their young people. The teacher is a required for an ASAP start where you will work on a casual cover basis for 4-5 days per week. The school is well equipped with clinical staff including counsellors and therapists as well as the facilities required to support individuals that have lived through challenging life experiences through therapeutic approaches. The successful applicant will also be well-versed in creating, implementing, and reassessing behaviour management strategies.
