Axcis Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEND school based in Southwark who are looking for a Complex Needs teacher to join their dedicated and experienced team ASAP. The school is a mixed school catering for pupils aged between 11 - 19 years old with complex needs including Down's syndrome, Autism, ADHD and medical needs. Most pupils also have SLD and speech and language difficulties which means that Makaton signing is used in most classes to facilitate communication. The ideal teacher will be a dedicated and creative teacher with SEND knowledge and experience working with pupils working below the Year 1 curriculum. Primary school teachers with demonstrable SEND experience are welcome to apply. You should have a creative and flexible approach to teaching which promotes success through personalisation and innovation. The school is purpose built with excellent facilities and modern resources, and was rated 'good' upon its last OFSTED report. It is easily accessible via public transport and also has private parking amenities. This role is to start ASAP and will be a full time role that continues on for the rest of the academic year. There is also potential for this role to become permanent. The role: " SEND teacher " ASAP " Full time role (Monday - Friday) The candidate: " Must have QTS " Knowledge of EYFS/KS1 curriculum " Experience with Makaton " Experience working with Complex Needs The school: " Mixed school catering for pupils aged between 11 - 19 years old " Maximum of 8 pupils per class " Experienced and supportive teaching assistants - at least one per class " Excellent resources " Determined and friendly staff members " Easily accessible via local public transport links This is a temporary position.
