SEND Teaching Assistant – High Needs SEND Hub Location: Birmingham, B34 Hours: Full Time, 8:00am – 3:15pm Contract: Long Term Axcis Education are recruiting for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school with a dedicated SEND hub in the B34 area of Birmingham. The SEND hub supports children with high and complex needs, with two classes of around 10 pupils. The children have a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex learning needs. This is a hands-on role where you will provide individualised support to pupils both within the SEND hub and, where appropriate, alongside their peers within the wider mainstream school. The role will involve supporting children with their learning, communication, emotional regulation and independence. As this is a high-needs provision, you will also be required to support pupils with personal care. The school is looking for someone who is: • Caring, patient and passionate about supporting children with SEND • Confident working with children with ASD and complex needs • Comfortable supporting with personal care • Calm and resilient • Able to follow individual support plans and strategies • Happy working on a one-to-one and small-group basis • A strong team player who can work closely with teachers and other support staff • Reliable and committed to a full-time role Previous experience working with children with SEND, ASD or complex needs is highly desirable. Experience within a SEND hub or specialist provision would also be beneficial.
