Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant KS1
Primary School Teaching Assistant (KS1 & SEN Support)
N17, North London
Full-Time | Term-Time Only
Are you passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential? Our welcoming and inclusive primary school in N17 is looking for a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our team.
About the Role
We are seeking a committed individual to support pupils across KS1, with a strong focus on SEN interventions. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children close learning gaps and make excellent progress.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver targeted interventions to support SEN pupils in reaching age-related expectations
Support children in KS1, both in class and in small group settings
Assist with the delivery of Read Write Inc. (Phonics) sessions
Support the implementation of the Talk for Writing approach
Provide personal and intimate care where required
Work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to monitor and track pupil progress
Foster a nurturing, positive, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting children with SEN
Be confident delivering phonics interventions, ideally Read Write Inc.
Be familiar with or willing to learn the Talk for Writing approach
Be comfortable providing intimate care
Be proactive, flexible, and willing to “get stuck in”
Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners
